Li Nan, deputy general manager of Fujian Silk Road Shipping Operation Co., Ltd., said in an interview with China news agency that with the recent landing of special funds for the development of "Silk Road shipping" port and shipping, international shipping companies have more confidence in the high-quality development of Fujian "Silk Road" core area, and a strong "Silk Road shipping" port and shipping network is forming.

On the same day, about 1800 empty containers were unloaded in Xiamen, accounting for nearly 80% of the total number of ships unloaded. Haitian terminal opened the full speed operation mode of "Silk Road shipping" for the ship, and the faster unloading speed means that the empty containers will reach the consignor faster.

It is understood that novel coronavirus pneumonia has been facing the challenge of smooth operation of global supply chain since the outbreak of new crown pneumonia. The inefficient rotation of empty containers has led to soaring logistics costs, and "one box is hard to find" has become a new normal.

The "Hongcheng" ship brought 1800 empty containers from thousands of miles away, reflecting the responsibility and responsibility of shipping companies in smooth international logistics and ensuring the stability of "two chains". According to the relevant person in charge of a local export enterprise in Xiamen, the timely return of empty containers provides a guarantee for the factory to reasonably arrange the production schedule and formulate an accurate logistics plan.

The empty containers were carried by six international container owners, Taiping Shipping Co., Ltd. from Singapore. Wang Wei, senior manager of container management department of Xiamen Branch of Taiping shipping company, said that the empty containers mainly came from South Africa, Singapore and other countries. After arriving in Xiamen, they will soon be loaded with local goods and then exported to the ports along the "Haisi" line.

The rapid circulation of empty containers provides a strong guarantee for the continuous operation of "Silk Road shipping". Statistics show that during the Spring Festival this year (February 11-17), Xiamen port's "Silk Road shipping" named route has opened a total of 51 ships, with a container throughput of 62500 TEUs, an increase of 110% over the same period last year, making a "good start" in the new year.
